Great News: A California biotech company has come up with a blood test that is about 90% accurate in detecting Alzheimer's 2-6 years before the onset of symptoms. They found that particular change in blood proteins can signal the potential for the disease.
Not So Great News: The use of this blood test as a diagnostic tool for patients will take a few years -- waiting for appropriate approvals and validations. It's believed that those suffering memory loss or who have a close relative with the disease would be offered the blood test.
Good News After That: Those who receive a positive test result could then begin reviewing their diet/exercise/meds to use natural and medically-prescribed methods for slowing the progress of the Alzheimer's.
